In just over 19 hours, forty-three musicians passed through Third Ear
Recording Studio in Minneapolis and created 16 unique tracks for a
compilation CD entitled Missing: Code Blue Volume 1. All proceeds from
sales will benefit Missing Children Minnesota. So many musicians
recording so many tracks in such a short amount of time resulted in a
beautiful lushness and coherence not typically found on a compilation
CD. Most of the tracks are acoustic and recorded live-to- tape. The
artisits appearing on Missing: Code Blue Volume 1 range from seasoned
musicians to newcomers destined to be tomorrows stars and they include:
Honeydogs, Epic Hero, Romantica, Coach Said Not To, Dazy Head Mazy, Tim
Mahoney, Jesse Greene, Molly Maher, Dan Israel, JoAnna James, Ben
Weaver, Alicia Wiley, Martin Devaney, Chris Harrington and Billy
Johnson. Each of the tracks is unique to Missing: Code Blue Volume 1
and the compilation crosses various genres including alt-country, folk,
jazz, rock and pop. The sessions were recorded, mixed and mastered by
Tom Herbers who has been an integral part of the Minnesota music scene
and beyond. His resume includes projects with The Church, Los Lobos,
Soul Asylum, Victoria Williams, The Jayhowks, Slim Dunlap, Chris Mar,
Low, Grant Hart, Dylan Hicks and many, many others.
