October 28, 2004 Missing Children Minnesota Benefit and CD Release Party at the Fine Line Music Cafe $12 at the door
7:00 PM - Doors 8-8:45 - Alicia Wiley 9:00-9:30 - Joanna James 9:30-10 - Jessy Greene 10:15-11 - Billy Johnson 11:15-12 - Dan Israel In just over 19 hours, forty-three musicians passed through Third Ear Recording Studio in Minneapolis and created 16 unique tracks for a compilation CD entitled Missing: Code Blue Volume 1. All proceeds from sales will benefit Missing Children Minnesota. So many musicians recording so many tracks in such a short amount of time resulted in a beautiful lushness and coherence not typically found on a compilation CD. Most of the tracks are acoustic and recorded live-to- tape. The artisits appearing on Missing: Code Blue Volume 1 range from seasoned musicians to newcomers destined to be tomorrows stars and they include: Honeydogs, Epic Hero, Romantica, Coach Said Not To, Dazy Head Mazy, Tim Mahoney, Jesse Greene, Molly Maher, Dan Israel, JoAnna James, Ben Weaver, Alicia Wiley, Martin Devaney, Chris Harrington and Billy Johnson. Each of the tracks is unique to Missing: Code Blue Volume 1 and the compilation crosses various genres including alt-country, folk, jazz, rock and pop. The sessions were recorded, mixed and mastered by Tom Herbers who has been an integral part of the Minnesota music scene and beyond. His resume includes projects with The Church, Los Lobos, Soul Asylum, Victoria Williams, The Jayhowks, Slim Dunlap, Chris Mar, Low, Grant Hart, Dylan Hicks and many, many others. Missing Children Minnesota is a Minnesota non-profit organization and its mission is to help in locating missing children; to provide advocacy and support services to families of missing children and to provide information and prevention education to the public regarding missing children and runaways. Since 1983 Missing Children Minnesota has helped more than 3500 families and children throughout the Midwest by providing 24-hour case managment, advocacy and crisis intervention services, as well as helping families at risk for abduction create individualized prevention plans. Missing Children Minnesota has helped more than 3000 children return home to their families. The organization is able to provide these services through the dedication and generosity of its donors.
