Throughout the campaign to pass a comprehensive smoking ban for the City Mayor Kelly said he would support a state law. He had the opportunity and took a pass. Remarkably, after the council unanimously passed a resolution supporting a statewide approach to workplace smoking, Mayor Kelly seems to have been in a huff and taken his ball and bat home. His only explanation for not signing the resolution, which he implied he supported, was that the council did not consult him first. Hmmm. Time to grow up?
