As part of this effort, I am working with Eureka Recycling to sponsor a series of environmental roundtables. It is my hope that we can develop a forward looking policy agenda that is driven from ground the up.
I'd just like to remind folks in the community, that St. Paul E-Democracy should be considered a possible partner in planning and implementing any public policy discussions on St. Paul related issues.
We are willing to use this forum to promote public policy discussions, to conduct complimentary online discussions (that operate along side other face to face forums), and to provide organizational support/advice.
Using the internet in conjunction with other meetings, is a great way to expand the reach of your public policy forums or citizen participation processes. In this city, I don't think that we have done enough to consider how traditional meetings can work together with online discussions or online tools, to maximize citizen participation and community involvement. Too often, we look to one option or the other, without considering how them MIGHT work together.
Please, feel free to respond in public or contact me privately to discuss this further.
Best wishes,
