I can't thank building owner Martin Lubell enought for his vision and determination in transforming this little corner of St. Paul, and would encourage folks to take Martin up on his invitation to stop by during the Open House and Potluck Dinner, Wednesday 5:00-> Midnight.

I would also like to reinforce this note. I've only visited the RenBox building once, when I was given an inspiring tour by Martin Lubell. He (and the buidling) demonstrate a vision that you'll not see anywhere else in downtown. In fact, a vision that is very contrary to what is going on in most of downtown. I highly recommend stopping by and taking a look.

Certainly, his vision is not one that is necessarily appropriate for all of downtown and will not appeal to everyone. But, I'd certainly like to see a place for the RenBox in the future of downtown - and I think that many community organizers in St. Paul will be pleasantly surprised to find such a place exists in downtown St. Paul.

I don't think that Martin is shy about the fact, that the building is struggling at the moment. I wish him the best.

I'd really like to host an E-Democracy event there, but just haven't had the time to do the legwork. If anyone is interested in helping pull something together in January, please let me know.

In the meantime, I'd encourage Martin to continue to post occasional updates on what is happening at the Renbox. I'm certainly eager to keep informed.

Best wishes,

Tim Erickson
