Through a spokesman, Kelly fired back at Finney. "Quite frankly, if Mr. Finney wants to be Mayor, he ought to get into the race and quit hiding behind an internet chat room" said Carl Kuhl, Kelly's spokesman.
I smell a smoldering sense of fear in that reply. Snide, taunting, and cowardly hiding behind a toady. It has all the elements of a genuine show of who Kelly is really afraid of.
Bill, this is why we need you.
Not only are you who Kelly is (apparently) most afraid of, we really can't have bullies like this running our city. In order to make his peacock-show, he had no problem dissing an important meeting place where people all over the city get together to discuss issues and trade information.
Yes, we were all dissed by this. It's not that Kelly and his lackeys hate us, it's that they see no reason why they can't dismiss the great work of Tim and everyone else if it happens to suit them. That this has become or is becoming an important civic institution is irrelevant.
Do we all see what we are up against here?
Bill, this is why we need you. Desperately.
