Building both the political base and unity within are definitely two of the most important duties of a DFL endorsed candidate. Hopefully the candidate that receives the DFL endorsement can and will do both of these. Hopefully the candidate receiving endorsement will effectively run the city because they focus on the DFL agenda in city hall. These functions are not mutually exclusive.
