Souchery mentioned a school program to deal with kids
who get suspended from school to illustrate his
argument that the schools want money for unneeded
programs. That's a good example of the mentality that
is willing to consign kids to the trash if they get
into any kind of trouble. It's not like suspended kids
disappear. It's in everyone's interest to try to reach
them before things get worse than a school suspension.
It seems sensible to me to have programs designed to
try to get suspended kids back into school without
having them fall so far behind that they simply drop
out entirely.
