Wrong on being the only non-white on here, I'm black. There are others. You may the only conservative who is not afraid to show his grasp of urban issues on here. Good for you. One thing conservative will never get is that its their politics that are all wrong- not what they look like. Most of them, look just like most of the Democrats. In short, repairing the imbalance of the white power structure is not about having an outcome where everything is reflected equally, but have a process where information, access and opportunity are equal. I will agree (with great reluctance) that SOME white liberals focus on an outcome because its quicker or, to make themselves feel good(ie.-"What are you talking about? Our _______ is African American"), but rarely dive into a remedy to address the access, information and opportunity part. The situation is not close to being ideal, but they are leaps and bounds ahead of where they were a short time ago. Nobody likes to relinquish power, no matter how liberal or conservative you are. I'm speaking in a subjective manner here in my observations with local party and community organizations(with Caty's being an exception).
