Raphael Ortega was the sponsor of the Ramsey County tobacco ordinance.
He has stated regularly that he did and would support a total ban. His
reason for the partial ban was he did not have the votes on the board
for a total ban.

To the best of my knowledge Coleman has not taken a position. A
question worth asking.

Here is a SAVE THE DATE update. The Ramsey Tobacco Coalition is
preparing a grand celebration for the first day of smoke-free
restaurants in Ramsey County. We will host several evening events on
March 31. So far we have scheduled an event at Champs in New Brighton.
There will also be a couple of other celebration sites in the rest of
the county. I will let you know the details as we firm them up.

We are also distributing $2.00 off coupons for participating
restaurants. The coupons will be featured in neighborhood newspapers
and you will be able to down-load additional coupons from the ANSR
website in about a week (www.ansrmn.org). The coupons are good March 31
to May 31.

The Minneapolis convention bureau is doing a pricey campaign to support
their smoke-free city. Their promotion will include billboards, no
doubt in Saint Paul, inviting people to come, eat, drink and breath
clean air. What can I say? Down with billboards!!
