Here is a sample:
I'm Tim Erickson. I manage the St. Paul Issues Forum on a volunteer capacity. HOWEVER, over the last few months, I've actually been engaged on a contract basis to help write THE "E-Democracy Training Manual" and to help launch 2-3 new Issues Forums (like this one) in the United Kingdom. Two of them are now up and running, see http://www.e-democracy.org/uk/ for more info.
I've lived in the Hamline Midway neighborhood most of my life, almost 40 years. I attended Hancock, Wilson, and Central schools and now have two children attending Capital Hill Magnet School and Museum Magnet School.
I serve on the Hamline Midway Block Club Steering Committee and am a board member for NEAT, a city wide network of parents and parent groups working to improve public education. I'm also a member of the Online Working Group of the National Consortium for Deliberative Democracy http://www.deliberative-democracy.net.
I'd like to see the following TWO issues addressed in the Mayoral Campaign:
1) The movement towards "FEES" as an alternative
to raising taxes. Is this a good thing? 2) How can the city help strengthen our district
councils? Maybe more funding?Thanks,
