Iâve heard recently that there have been two full-time people just recently
added to
Mr. Dawkinsâ department reportedly for the sole task of inspecting and report
messy
and unkempt boulevards. Theyâll be out there, vigilant and on the job
(supposedly with
wireless computers capable of reporting all this to some boulevard focused
central
processing facility) making sureâ of what? That thereâs none of that icky
late-winter
salt/sand mess that gets tramped into the house? That the boulevard gardens
donât have
any too-high delphiniums? That grass is mowed?
Is this true? Do they get special spiffy âBoulevard Posseâ uniforms? What
if that icky
dirt is on the walk up to the door â does their jurisdiction go that far, or
do they have to
call in the âSidewalk Squadâ for that?
If this is true (and I donât know if it is, thatâs why Iâm asking), then
we have problems far
greater than I thought we did. Problems that have nothing to do with boulevard
cleanliness.
