I just hope we don't have a Yanisch-Opus-Ryan-Target type o' deal over
here. That was all very shady and disconcerting. If you've forgotten that
debacle, here is a selection of refreshers:

I think Target can afford to do something like this without using any of my
money or knocking down perfectly fine buildings, don't you think? Can we
vote on which buildings COULD be knocked down? Rank them and then destroy
the bottom 10% (like they do here and at other merciless corporations!) I
suppose this is one of the things our Planning Dept does - is there a
Building Inventory somewhere?

why would you have to carry the dog food 8 blocks to your car? the store
will
have a ramp right there that you can bring the cart right to your car.
When i worked downtown mpls i liked having target down there. I have heard
the
building is now TIF and many, many people don't like that. I still go down
there even though i don't work down there anymore. they have parking for
target shoppers only that has been always available. they do this by
making
long term stays outrageously expensive. You get 1 hour comp'd during the
week
and 2 hours on the weekend if you spend $20 or $25 bucks at the store. for
DTSTP, it would solve the problem of there being now downtown grocery store
as
targets carry many food staples and some other items. sounds like a good
idea
but be wary of the inevitable building subsidy.
