Many of you may be familiar with the Rondo Oral History Project, completed
by Hand in Hand. The effort involves oral histories contributed by 36
long-term members of Saint Paul's Historic, African American Rondo
community.

Among those profiled are former police chief and SPPS board member, William
"Corky" Finney; Janabelle Taylor - Miss Hallie Q. Brown and the very first
Queen of Hearts; the recently departed Kathy Gagnon, SPPS administrator;
David Taylor, Dean of the General College at the U of M; Deputy Chief of
Police, Jim Griffin; musicians, educators, rail road workers and a host of
other local notables.

An exhibit, featuring story boards, fantastic Rondo pictures and stories
from those profiled in the effort is going to take place at the
Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) in Arlington Senior High School (1495
Rice Street) from April 13th through the 29th. On April 20th, from 4 to 7
p.m., their will be a Community Reception at the MRC and we hope you will
join us (See detailed info below).

Please pass this information along to others you think might be interested.
Hope to see you there on April 20th.
