You must not be from around here (like most people on this forum it seems). The first mayor I recall was George Vavoulous, republican small bidness owner. And I'll bet over the past 30 years there have been as many or more republican mayors here than democrats. It seems to me that in the 70's the whole state was pretty republican.
But it's true, since most of the normal people have escaped to the suburbs in recent years, I am in the distinct minority. But Jesus said, go to where the sinners are (heh heh).

1) Thank goodness we don't elect Republican mayors, they would support big dirty, noisy business that destroyed neighborhoods, for temporary jobs, just to make the rich richer, and do it with city, state tax dollars via subsidies.
2) So how many of you out there really think we still have a two party system, raise your hands (....counting)
3) Of course the democrats have to eat their young, there are no republicans to eat, after the democrats stack the non partisan ballot, all thats left after the primary is democrats.
4) I still say there is something in the water at city hall that makes all these democrats act like republicans, switch parties, endorse republicans (see 2)
