You must not be from around here (like most people on this forum it seems). The first mayor I recall was George Vavoulous, republican small bidness owner. And I'll bet over the past 30 years there have been as many or more republican mayors here than democrats. It seems to me that in the 70's the whole state was pretty republican.

This will probably be the only time that I say this but I think Dennis is right :) Many of our good leaders have been republican in the past.


And many republicans that I know are distressed at what is happening to their party...the intolerance...tax as sin...

This "values" ugliness has sent many of my republican friends to the DFL. Now that we can see that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer under their leadership we might see more go as well.
