Although it might mean you'll never merge it :-( I've no idea about Altera's plans and I don't have enough time to take care of the whole upstreaming on my own (at least in the near future). Since I use strace as a valuable debugging tool, guess I'll carry this patch around. Still it would be wonderful to have it merged.
