and, as to the cowardice of Hollywood: there are 75 movies in the  
works, (estimated release dates in the next four years) based on comic

Many of them are "well we have a script" so the dates may well be less  
than concrete....'

But among them are a Robert Rodriguez-helmed remake of Barbarella, a  
(live action?) remake of Akira, a live action remake of Ghost in the  
Shell, and Spidermans 5 through 17 inclusive...
