-- Perspective is everything =) Faith, in this case, was a noun. The truth is that the religion spawned by the Old Testament, or specifically the story of Abraham, became Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Christianity, in turn, has spawned numerous denominations: Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, Mormon, etc. Even among members of the same denominations, there are disagreements on interpretations of scripture. There have been thousands of years of evolution of the religion through splintering, and even the consistent evolution of the catholic church's teachings by passing the reigns from pope to pope. Like any human idea, religion evolves and adapts. It has happened, and continues to happen. The bible may not change, but perspectives, and therefore interpretations of it, do. Although there is evidence that the bible DID change under King James. Regardless, religion must and will adapt to the reality of the planet. Of course, the church has killed plenty of scientists to protect itself over the years, that instinct has evolved as well. In this case, as Ben Stein =) -- Michael --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
