Aye, that would definitely be of interest. I had a grandfather that  
went, er, more than a little "off" =(

 From what I know about Alzheimer's, it's actually a physical  
substance, called "plaque" that accrues in the brain and disrupts the  
brain's ability to reliably retrieve memories. Certain substances  
rush blood through typically underutilized portions of the brain, and  
have been shown to slow the onset of Alzheimer's, and though the  
causality is suspect (impossible to predict who will get it) may be  
preventative.

I imagine a machine that exercises the brain in such a way, like EMS,  
might be a nightly regimen in the future.
