Yes they are, and in actual contested-by-everyone elections they're 1 for 4 so
far, and the winner of that 1 (Scott Brown, Senate MA) just as quickly earned
their ire.

Primaries are generally decided by the base, and EVERY bit of polling since the
Tea Parties has indicated that the Tea Partiers are indistinguishable in
viewpoint from the Republican base, the 29% who still think GWB was a great
president.

My perception of the Tea Partiers is colored by the folks who are our picketing
my congressional reps office (which is a block from my house) regularly. And
MY perception of them is that they're old, white, republican and largely stupid
because they believe any lie Beck/Limbaugh/Palin feeds them.

I know this because they're writing the lies on their signs.

Like the ones that say "We have a lyin' African in the White House".

They're old, butter and clinging to their guns and religion because the people
feeding them the lies (Like "Repealing The Bush Tax cuts will affect 50% of
small businesses." or "$250,000 a year is 'middle-class'" both of which are
manifestly untrue) are laughing all the way to the bank.

This is the REASON they're being funded by right-wing billionaires, banksters
and republican lobbyists like Dick Armey. You end up with an aroused rabble
fighting for the very people who have been ripping them off for years.

These people will say *with a straight face* that "things were better in the
50's" (when the top marginal income tax rate was 90%, instead of the 35% it is
now) and that "The New Deal didn't lift us out of the Depression, WWII did" so
government spending can never solve a depression.

They're entirely unable to articulate WHY spending nearly as much on defense as
the entire rest of the world combined is somehow sacrosanct, but spending less
than what we spent in a WEEK in Iraq is somehow too much to spend on fixing
roads and bridges here in our own country.

(A position held by the Teabgger-Approved republican candidate for congress in
my district.)

The conclusion is pretty simple, they're morons, their hatred for Obama has
clouded their judgement, or they're willing tools for people who spit on them
in private. (or all three)

We've been cutting taxes, deregulating business and shipping jobs and corporate
profits overseas for 30 years now...if trickle-down economics worked, we'd all
be fucking millionaires by now. Instead, all that;s really happened is a
massive transfer of wealth from the middle class to the wealthy top 5%.

We're poisoning our water with sewage, blowing up neighborhoods with
disintegrating gas lines, killing people when rusty old bridges fall down, and
replacing paved roads with gravel because we were convinced that taxes are too
much of a burden.

You teabaggers always whinge about passing on debt to your children and
grandchildren...but you are doing just that.

You're giving them a world of reduced prosperity, bad water, dirt roads and
menial jobs.

Congratulations, the Koch Brothers salute you.

They got theirs, Jack!
