Or Democrats for short: <http://washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/2011/05/think-tank-project-shows-why-dems-wont-offer-budget>
Here's the Heritage Foundation plan: <http://www.heritage.org/Research/Reports/2011/05/Saving-the-American-Dream-The-Heritage-Plan-to-Fix-the-Debt-Cut-Spending-and-Restore-Prosperity> Before the usual suspects get their nasty knives out, note that this plan was based on the same input as the plan developed by Center for American Progress and the Economic Policy Institute, two liberal think tanks. The liberal proposals raise taxes to about 24%, levels that are unprecedented in this country. They also increase debt over the next 25 years. That is why Harry and the Demagogues won't propose a budget plan of their own. Much easier to use the same old partisan tactics that work on the likes of the knife-wielders on this list. The Heritage Foundation plan reduces the size of government by half, and results in the fastest debt reduction while relying on more realistic assumptions of future revenue (18.5%). I would argue it also results in a federal government that better conforms to constitutionally imposed limits on government power. The main difference is that conservatives have a plan they're willing to champion while the liberals have one that want to keep secret. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
