Well, I yanked it out and tossed it in the garbage. If it's not there in three

The seed pods on these plant pop open with explosive force and can send the 
seeds quite a ways off (this is their dispersal method...the seeds are toxic to 
keep critters from eating them) I've seen them fly 10-15 feet, so it's remotely 
possible one popped open into a sufficient wind to carry it up over the 
roof...I do have one tall plant close to the east side of the house.

but that would have to be a really freaky wind..
