The lens alone is impressive. f/2 all the way? I'll note though that they simply call it an "8x zoom" without actually letting out any numbers. Kinda makes me pissed I just bought a new camera (the Nikon is ok, but is too bulky for me to carry around on a daily basis)...Woot had a deal on a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS10 with a Leica lens, and I've been extremely pleased with the Lumix I've had for a long time. (which Alison has now commandeered) Too bad this, looks like the thing to toss in the Fanny pack to take pictures at a moment's notice. Be odd getting used to framing a square image again, I haven't used a square format camera that for a LONG time...
