If I was an agribusiness profiteer I'd think it's good to encourage a
little scare in the public mind.  Get em to think of that fresh stuff
as possibly tainted by poop on the hands of (probably illegal)
transient farm hands.  Then I could concentrate my merch in the long
shelf-life stuff they put in cans.  Processing!  That's where the
money is.  And most people don't like that fresh stuff anyway.  It's
so hard to prepare . . . turns to rot all too soon even in the
fridge.  You know, guide the good people into the middle aisles of the
store.  That's what they really want anyway.  Food in a wrapper!  Food
in a can!  Food in a box!
