I've had two different Panasonic Lumix cameras and I love 'em both.

I've got a Nikon L100 and while it's a nice camera, it's definitely a 'meh' 
next to my Lumix.

Get one with a Leica lens and you've got good glass, although Panasonic's own 
lenses are not bad.

ONe downside is that mine don't shoot RAW.

 is at the top of your $$ range, but it's a sweet camera, and it does shoot RAW.
