does the most recent mac OS prevent, in any way, returning a machine to the original shipped os? elfgurl is using a new tablet to draw with,(she just had a birthday). there are a couple extra [older] HP scanner/printers she could use, but they don't seem to be compatible, with 10.8.2. i could set up an external boot drive and go that route i suppose...
