I do tend to believe gun laws don't really deter criminals. I wonder
about the background checks for mental illness. Seems expensive & time
consuming and I doubt it would be handled evenly.
Some of my FB friends & their loony memes are making me think they might
fail sanity tests. AFAIK, they all own simple handguns, shotguns &
hunting rifles, so they're "they're gonna take my guns away" crap is
pretty dang nuts.
As far as an outgunned insurrection goes - the better the weapons the
better off you'll be. Getting your hands on a rocket launcher will be
easier with a Glock than with brass knuckles. A lot of the weapons would
be used for quick guerrilla strikes, sabotage & assassination. To a
great extent to keep the government busy putting out fires & making it
less viable & more undesirable to the populace.
I have no idea what an American coup would look like. The whole country
would not go at once. Probably get broken up like in Red Dawn or Scout.
That shit is probably all academic.
For the networked rat-brain bio-fuel powered weaponized drone? I
prescribe a shotgun.
