Crap, didn't see that the Monoprice one was back-ordered.

Your iMac doesn't do USB3, and gigabit is overkill unless your moving tons and
tons of data around your home network, say from your iMac to another computer.
Your connection to the internet is constrained by your ISP's speed.

Apple's USB-Ethernet is only $29

ONe thing to look at on the iMac…a couple of times I've had ethernet ports 'go
bad' by one of the wires inside getting jammed up and out of it's socket, take
a flashlight and magnifying glass to the back of the iMac. I've fixed it with
some careful work with forceps, then carefully sticking in the ethernet cable.

This is your cable-to-household router. Your ABS connects to this to get to the
outside world. The replacement would replace the ABS not the Moto. The ABS is a
wireless router.

Most cable routers will only connect to one device on the home LAN side, so you
need another router (ABS or the D-Link) to be able to use more than one
computer/phone/ipad/etc.

This is what they make USB hubs for. I have this one at work, it's held up
pretty well:

<http://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP-H720P-High-Speed-7-Port-USB/dp/B0006TIA8Y>

If you want USB to ethernet get one of these from Monoprice:

<http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10311&cs_id=1031102&p_id=9466&seq=1&format=2>

Monoprice also has a hub for cheep too:

<http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10307&cs_id=1030702&p_id=5328&seq=1&format=2>

We've been happily buying stuff from monoprice for years…thats where we get all
our cables.
