We use Verizon and get pretty good coverage everywhere in the continental US except for our house where the coverage is spotty. The only time I am ever asked if I want more data turned on is when I try to get episodes of podcasts. I ignore it and turn data usage off. Comes through the wireless just fine. Speaking of which, a recommended podcast I've been listening to for a while is You Are Not So Smart by David McCready
