Ben Gunter commented on STS-399:
--------------------------------

I'm torn on this one. If we strip all trailing slashes, then that makes it
impossible to intentionally include a trailing slash in a value. That's a bit
of an odd requirement, but not out of the realm of possibility. But I certainly
see how it would be desirable to always strip that slash. Are you having
problems with browsers adding a trailing slash or something like that?

To work around this, all you have to do is add a trailing slash to your
@UrlBinding, as in @UrlBinding("/path/to/bean/{param}/") and the slash will be
stripped from the value if it is present in the URL. If it is not present, then
it will be OK since trailing parameters and/or literals can be omitted without
a problem.

Please let me know if I'm overlooking something or if this is really causing
you problems.

> Say you set up this clean url:
> @UrlBinding("/path/to/bean/{param}")
> The param will not bind if you include a trailing slash in the url:
> Works as expected (fantastic) without the trailing slash.
