So I have to admit that I'm kinda with Remi on this one :o  I  
understand that there are folks out there who want this capability.   
But for me the light bulb has not gone off - I don't get why you  
would want to do this deep-down, very close to the protocol, REST stuff.

Of course, if Will or someone else is proposing to build this as an  
extension, what I have to say doesn't mean a whole lot ;)  I'd  
appreciate it though if someone could clearly articulate the value  
proposition for this proposal.  Since I know Will and others on this  
list are smart folk I feel like there must be one, but I don't see  
it.  So far, to me, it feels a lot like the whole "web services will  
revolutionize everything" buzz-talk of years gone by (well, hopefully  
gone-by).
