When you find a problem like this, *please* submit a bug report for it.
That's the best way to ensure that it gets fixed.

The only bug report we have for this is bug #10955, which states that the
app does not run under JRun 3.1. I don't have access to that container, so I
did not attempt to address the bug. If other people had submitted bug
reports against other containers, especially Tomcat, the problem might have
been addressed sooner.
