I have very rarely experienced this, when icarus (a.k.a. cvs.apache.org)
was really busy doing something else, but it's definitely not normal.

I found MindTerm (http://www.mindbright.se/mindterm/) pretty easy to set
up for Win2K use.  On Linux, the standard ssh utilities work fine for me.
