Sounds about right. I love the fact that it's so open, and that you can't "hide your code" and you can't pretend you're making effort when you're not, and everyone has to be brutally honest - 'cause you're gonna get found out if you're not. It's totally what we need! I know the first time I get myself into an XP team (which will happen) I'll sh*t a brick or two to begin with, but being completely self taught I totally understand the worth in learning from other people. I envisage that saying something stupid in an XP team won't result in the same kind of reaction that it would provoke in a 'traditional' team (where for some strange reason the focus often appears to be oneupmanship and code ownership - maybe that's just my experience, I don't pretend to be an expert). Rather like this mailing list, actually - plenty of new users have said things that could be construed as stupid (newbie questions that could be easily answered by reading the manual) - but I am surprised - and encouraged by the responses that these users receive from the list. > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Jacob Hookom [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > Sent: Friday, August 16, 2002 2:36 PM > > To: 'Struts Users Mailing List' > > Subject: RE: XP (and not the Microsoft kind) > > > > > > Actually, in all the market slump and government funding cutbacks, our > > CS department is growing-- dramatically, in addition, it's accredited > > for CS, so it's not second rate ;-) > > > > Jacob Hookom > > University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire > > > -- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > -- Regards ------------------------------------------- Cliff Rowley | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Software Engineer | www.doctype.co.uk +44 (0) 1206 514263 | www.cliffrowley.com ------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
