Unlike many custom home theater installation firms that work hand in hand with separate interior designers, A/V Connections Inc. in Little Rock, Arkansas can provide modern home theater installation and interior design simultaneously. When this particular client came to A/V Connections to have a moderately priced home theater system installed, the choice of room décor i.e., seating arrangement, wall colors, lighting design, etc. was handled with as much care as the all important A/V equipment and control. "The design process should always take on a synergistic approach, melding the technology into the actual space," noted David Crook, president of A/V Connections Inc. Entering the 16 by 20-foot-deep dedicated theater space in this beautiful 6,000-plus-square-foot lakefront home, the first sense one gets is that it is more than just a viewing room. Yes, it serves as a topnotch theater, but this multifunctional space is as much a room for having a drink and relaxing with a good book as it is a place for watching the latest blockbuster movie or listening to your favorite concerto in 6.1 surround. An eight by 10-foot area off the back corner of the room serves as a refreshment zone. A wet bar, a refrigerator and a popcorn machine allow the homeowners and guests to enjoy a frosty drink or a hot bucket of popcorn while lounging in the ultra-comfortable reclining CinemaTech seats that were built into the room in a slightly concave layout. Unlike huge faceless corporations, Sunfire is the unique, personal vision of one audio genius, Bob Carver. Most audio geniuses would be content to have founded just two landmark audio companies. But after creating Phase Linear and Carver Corporation, Bob still had more innovative technology in his system. He wanted to express these ideas in meticulously-built, premium audio products that would offer exceptional value and sound quality. And that's what you get when you buy Sunfire. A great product from the mind and soul of Bob Carver. Click to visit Sunfire... http://www.avrev.com/splashpage/sunfire.html Congratulations! Movie Review: Capote Reviewed by: Bill Warren Rating: Four Stars "Capote" deals with Truman Capote and his writing of his greatest work, "In Cold Blood." Twice filmed, the book has been immensely influential on the writing of nonfiction in the United States and probably worldwide. With one blow, it changed nonfiction from, basically, largely dry reportage to compelling, novel-like narratives. The effect was permanent; it is now the principal style in nonfiction writing, at least that intended for reading by the general public. But at the same time, it had an even more powerful effect on Capote himself. The book was such a smash best-seller that it changed him from a writer known for a few books and movies ("Beat the Devil," "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "The Innocents") to the most famous living American writer, a position he held for several yearseven though he never wrote another book. A few collections were published, but he produced no other book-length manuscriptand this was largely because of the success of "In Cold Blood." Toward the end of his life, he became a high camp joke; he was openly gay very early in his writing career, and his odd, high-pitched voice and soft Southern accent, plus his pale blonde hair, pudgy frame and small stature made him a walking parody of himself. For years, he was one of the most prominent figures in New York society a leading glint of the glitteratibut when a chapter of what he promised was a longer work was published, his horrified friends found themselves thinly disguised with their darkest secrets trotted out in the anecdotal work. His name vanished from party lists, and some of his prominent friends never spoke to him again. Hostage Robert Crais went from writing television to writing novels and achieved critical and commercial success with a series of novels about a cop named Elvis. It was clear that he wanted to sell a book to the moviesand with the prices producers are willing to pay, who can blame him? So he began writing movies that were, unfortunately, all too clearly intended to be sold as movies. They involved stark, melodramatic situations, very clearly delineated good guys (even if troubled) and bad guys (even if charismatic). And sure enough, his novel "Hostage" sold. It read like a Bruce Willis movie, a variation on the "Die Hard" movies, so it was hardly surprising that Bruce Willis was cast in the lead... In 1919, women had been granted the right to vote, and for the first time their voices were heard in presidential elections and senatorial and representative races. Still, things did not drastically change for women on the national front. World War II brought new changes for the American people when women were needed to staff factories that produced vehicles and ammunition and supplies for soldiers fighting in the war on and across the seas. Images of Rosie the Riveter remain in the minds of most people, as well as history books. However, once the war was over, women returned to the households all across the United States. Nothing really changed.
