Are you starting it from your build directory? Subsurface should have all
its paths right when started from there...
I believe so. On my system I build on the Diveapps directory. Inside
that I have:
grantlee/ install-root/ libdivecomputer/ libgit2/ marble-source/
subsurface/
Inside subsurface/ I have the build directory, from which I'm starting
subsurface.
