all the studies I have seen only consider the 8000ft. Probably it happens too 
rarely that there is a loss of cabin pressure (and we are already discussing 
problems that appear in a tiny fraction of a percent of the cases). Also I 
don’t think the consequences of loss of cabin pressure are that severe, people 
with good health should be pretty much unaffected by it for the time it takes 
the plane to go down to safe altitude.

And I am still waiting for the announcement that „in the unlikely event of 
sudden loss of wifi connectivity CAT6 cables will fall from the ceiling“.
