I could apply your patch, which looks fine, but may I suggest you
simply create a pull request on github for it instead, and thus become
a proper subsurface developer?
It's a glamorous life. Think of the adulation of the crowds you'll
get. People murmuring "There goes Bill Perry, subsurface developer" as
you walk past.
Maybe. Or maybe not. But worth trying.
