Some of the earlier attempts just used the serial number that was also
encoded in the rest of the BLE name (ie "002716"), but they seem to
have been getting increasingly more "sophisticated" (ie: intentionally
obscure) lately.


Do we know why they are doing this, and have we tried talking to them about sharing the information about this pairing process?


After all, the fact that the hardware that they are selling can only be used in conjunction with software that many of their customers seem to perceive as limiting and not their first choice seems to be something that diminishes the value of their purchase...
