Rate: 50hr Length: 3-6 month contract to hire Industry: Financial KEY EXPERIENCE: MUST BE GREEN CARD HOLDER OR CITIZEN !! MUST BE OK WITH CONVERTING FULLTIME AFTER 3-6 MONTHS !! JOB DESCRIPTION: This individual is responsible for developing and maintaining SQL/T-SQL procedures to query and modify data in the client server environment. The reporting data gathering queries developed often involve moderate to complex multi-table relationships. Successful candidates will be able to quickly learn and understand business concepts including the evaluation and analysis of customer requirement specifications and how to relate the concepts to database entities. Ability to work with other Application Developers to assist the developers in the design and performance of SQL queries They must be able to work with other developers to understand the application design and logical data layout to help recommend solutions. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: -Experience with Microsoft Windows (OS);2000, XP or professional -Strong knowledge of MS Enterprise Manager, Access and Excel. This candidate must have experience in all areas of MS SQL Server development of functions and procedures with an understanding of logical and physical database modeling and design concepts. Candidate must have deep knowledge of SQL/T-SQL and strong database design skills. In addition, they are also required to understand various database structures such as tables, indexes, relationships, views, stored procedures, constraints, domains, etc. DTS Package creation and maintenance is also required. Candidate must have experience in understanding query plans, estimates and optimizing performance and indexes. They must work within established coding standards. Development methodologies must comply with established SDLC process flow. Experience running and writing UNIX shell scripts is a plus. -Exposure to job scheduling applications (e.g. Autosys) is useful -Must have excellent communication and technical skills -Should be 'people friendly, have the ability to work with all levels of information technology personnel and key functional users to develop an understanding of their needs -Ability to troubleshoot and test application performance and stability problems -Work both independently and collaboratively on application development projects, often, under time constraints JOB REQUIREMENTS: Required Educational Background and/or Specialized/Technical Knowledge: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Information Technology or related area preferred * Required Work Experience: * Minimum of 3 years financial services or information technology industries experience * Some experience with managing production systems *Excellent communication skills * Experience with Internet/Intranet applications and database technologies (e.g. web-based applications and use of SQL, TSQL for data retrieval from database; MS SQL Server). *Proven ability to navigate and manage change as well as adapt to process or environment changes *Exposure with issues management processes*Ability to work under pressure, maintain flexibility and sound decision-making.
