I am wondering whether it is possible to set a global speed limit for a
certain vehicle type. I have a network imported from osm, so the edges in
my network each have one speed limit that applies to all vehicles driving
on it. Now I want to simulate a highway with both normal cars and trucks on
it, and I want the trucks to have a speed limit of 80 km/h, while the rest
of traffic is allowed to drive faster. Is there a simple way to implement
this?

I know of some options, but they are not exactly what I'm searching for:
1. I could set the 'maxSpeed' of the truck vtypes to the desired speed
limit. However, that means that the acceleration becomes incorrect, since
this is computed as 'accel*(1-speed/maxSpeed)' in which 'maxSpeed' is the
physical maximum speed the vehicle could drive. This error becomes quite
significant because a truck with light load could have a physical maximum
speed of something like 130 km/h maybe, which is a lot higher than 80 km/h.
2. I read it could be possible for network edges to define a different
maximum speed for different vehicle types. But I cannot find good
documentation on this subject, and it seems very sub optimal to store such
extra information in all (highway and primary) edges.
