Hello Wilmer, Route travel time estimation is not that easy to estimate and depends on a lot of factors. If you're just estimating on a straight road with no traffic lights or traffic jams, then it's basically remaining distance divided by the speed limit. In a highway where congestion can occur this already gets more complicated, you'd have to work with the fundamental diagram and the amount of vehicles between the one you have to estimate the travel time for and the end point of the possible congestions. In an urban environment you'd need to know the plans of the traffic light controllers, I wrote a paper about that some years ago, it is attached. Later on I extended it for the IET journal, in case you have access to that one too (no Attachment on mailing list)
Another path to solve this, is to build some historic data of the travel times and add a neural network to make predictions for the future. The neural network should learn from the historic data, but it generally has problems with predicting during exceptional events (like accidents, special events that alter traffic demand, etc.).
