Hello, 1) use option --output-file hong-kong_china.net.xml instead of --plain-output-prefix 2) add the recommended options listed here: http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Networks/Import/OpenStreetMap#Recommended_NETCONVERT_Options 3) You are running out of memory because the network is too big for your computer. See Networks/Import/OpenStreetMap#Importing_large_Networks
