Re the "glass in old windows" story, I was always told (the myth) that it flowed to the bottom and indeed I am sure that I have noticed definitely thicker glass at the bottom in several old windows (200 years?) - but given an uneven rectangle of glass, would YOU putty it into a window heavy end up?
