I got the 18-26 degree data from the Audubon Field Guide.
About it being a partial arc - I've got some anecdotal evidence
that it may be mroe than a partial arc -
20 years ago a woman I know told me about seeing a beautiful
bright rainbow that was a *complete* circle and it was centered
overhead.
I've also seen many paintings (mostly in Indian artwork) that
renders a complete circle of bright colors in the air.
Les, What are the chances it could be complete, albeit rare?
I've checked out the 'Halo' program that Les refers to in his e-mail.
What a *wonderful* program! I'm not often impressed by software.
This one impresses me.
