Hello All,

I found out about the sundial mailing list from "Sundials on the Internet"
and hope that one of you may be able to direct me to a helpful source.
I was wondering if you knew a source for either plans or a finished device
for the Ashton-Dearing Solarchron, Sundial Calendar. It looked like an
interesting item (a brass truncated half-cylinder or parabaloid that had
adjustments for latitude and longitude and gave both time and date) but I
have heard it was a limited production item. I saw one in a catalogue in
1995 but my budget wouldn't allow me that much of an indulgence.

Failing locating an actual finished device, are you aware of any plans
detailing the construction of a solar calendar that would tell the current
date rather than the time?

Additionally, I would be interested in similar leads on a nice accurate
(local standard time within ~ 1 minute) heliochronometer. Thank you for any
assistance you can offer.

Regards,

Michael Tomasco
