In regards to FranGois Pineau's message about his friend's sundial.  I
personally don't know any specifics about that, but the planetarium in
Lansing, Michigan (on the MSU campus) is called the Abrams Planetarium after
Talbert and Leota Abrams.  Hopefully this will provide you with a clue to
history of the object mentioned.
