Rube Goldberg? Is he the US equivalent of William Heath Robinson?
(inventor/illustrator of fantastic machines - in UK).

Off topic I know but this gives me a slender (very) excuse to ask if any
list member knows a comprehensive source of Heath Robinson quotations?

For some time now I've been trying to confirm him as the originator of
the design dictum

"Simplicate and add more lightness!"

but the book I'm sure I found it in years ago defies all searches.
