Fellow Shado Watchers,
It's been staring me in the face every time I
opened Frank Cousins' book but I've only just noticed it with the new
interest in the Schmoyer/Sunquest dial.
Apart from the gnomon shape the basic structure of the Schmoyer/Sunquest
(p.190) and the Oliver dial (p.186) is identical if these line drawings
are to be believed. But wait! - even the securing wingnuts are in
identical positions in both illustrations!
Is this an Oliver frame with a Sunquest gnomon? or a Sunquest frame with
an Oliver gnomon?
Or just an illustrator who hoped nobody would notice?
