A nice distinction in clear need of definition! Perhaps a 'nondial' is something which occupies the typical site of a sundial but could not be re-arranged in any way to make it functional whereas an 'undial' could be a dial which could work if displaced in latitude or orientation or by having an informed adjustment made to its delineation or turning the gnomon through 180°* etc. Tony M. * For examples of the latter consult the National Trust!! I accidentally wrote 90° (before correction).....and that would have got us into a right tangle!! Ouch! P.S. Now I think I recall where I first encountered 'undial' Sarah! ;-)
